What is the Mission of Benicia
House?
Benicia House is dedicated to
providing a new, or additional, venue for exposure of
your work to the public at large. Exposure is extremely
important for any author or writer. Those who have
attained a degree of recognition have usually had a
rough road to travel in getting there. Even if you have
an active web site of your own to promote your work,
one of the important aspects of getting your site
recognized is the number of links to and from that
site.
What does this mean to
me?
Select Writer and you will notice
that we have a fairly broad list of categories which should
serve to stimulate your thinking about a specific category
that fits your need. Once again, you are free to name the
specific category under which you would like your writing
listed. We suggest you select, or name, a category where
you feel viewers might expect to find your work.
Each Writer gets a full
web page; we offer a selection of five (5) different
templates from which to choose. Each template, with the
exception of #3 in the case of both Writers and
Artists, provides you with the following:
- Page title
- Two graphic images. The size of the graphic is
listed on the template.
The maximum size for any
graphic file is 50k.
- A title for each image
- A text description of your image (limit 250 words
max).
- One hyperlink to your page on another site where you
or your work may be displayed and/or purchased.
- For those who wish other people to email them, we will
include your email address, parsed, to keep spammers from
harvesting your address
- A "Send the page to a friend" link to enable you, or
any visitor, to email your page URL to others using
your (or their) email client, with your email address
protected.
- There is no outside advertising included on your web
page.
We have created a special template
(#3) to show what your page would look like if you wish
to display only one work. If you use templet #3, you may
include a 500 word description of the single image.
Finally, you get the opportunity to
cancel at any time. This is a month-to-month program
with no long-term commitment requirement. Setup fees
are non-refundable.
Why get involved now?
Since we are just launching this
site and are looking for works from Writers working in any genre.
For a limited time we are offering special programs to encourage
Writers to take advantage of this exposure.
Writers: Subscribe with a one-time setup fee of $4.95 and receive the
first two months of exposure FREE. After the first two months,
your PayPal account is billed $2.95 automatically at the beginning of
the third month, and at the beginning of each month thereafter. Cancel
your subscription at any time. Writers who come on board now are
guaranteed this same rate for a minimum of one year.

How do I get
started?

Step 1: Review our rules..
- Go to Writer, and select a
Template shown that fits your situation.

Step 2: Submit all information
necessary.

Select one or two of
the graphic images (on your hard drive) that
you wish to use
- Make sure they are
in gif or jpg format, and each file size is
under 50k.

We can reduce the
L Or H dimension to fit our size
requirements, but we do not increase these
dimensions for quality reasons.

Step 3. Writers go to Subscribe (by
clicking on the "Subscribe" button at the top
of any page). IMPORTANT: Insert the Unique ID Number
found in the email and click on the PayPal
Logo. Once we receive notice of payment from
PayPal, we will begin work on your page. It
should be posted in 24 - 48 hours - or
sooner. Pay the $4.95 Setup fee through PayPal.
