1. You must be over 18 years of age.
   
   If you are submitting art for our "Young Writers" section (children 18 and under) , note the following:
   You must be over 18 years of age, submitting for your child's original work. Do NOT submit an email address for your child. Use your email address. We recommend, for security reasons, that you not include a picture of your child.
    
2. No blatant porn or salateous material is acceptable. Any material submitted, which we feel is offensive, will be rejected and monies paid will be returned.
    
3. The manuscript you wish to promote must have been written by you. No "Third-Party" advertising will be accepted.
    
4. Graphic images of you or the cover of your manuscript must be in GIF or JPG format, and should be no larger than 150 W X 200 H. These dimensions can be reversed for a landscape image. If you submit larger size images, they will be reduced to the maximum dimension allowed with no change in aspect ratio. No graphic may exceed 50K in file size. See our FAQ page. 
    
5. You may elect to promote two of your original works, rather than have a graphic of yourself appear, You will have two text blocks (limited to 250 words each) to describe each graphic.
   
   Poets please note:
   
   Template 3 is an exception to this. Template 3 was designed specifically for those Poets who would like to present a sample of their work. If a poem is to be reproduced, we allow 60 lines with no more that 65 characters (including spaces) per line. You must tell us, in special instructions on the submission form, whether to center your lines or left-align the poem. No other formatting is available.
   
   For all others, since only one graphic is allowed on Template 3, you are allowed 500 words. In either case, we do not edit, but will eliminate all words after either the 250 max or the 500 max, depending on the Template you choose.
    
6. If you should elect NOT to have a graphic, the word/line limits for the Template chosen still apply.
    
7. You may promote your own web page, or a web page where the same product is being sold, however you may NOT use beniciahouse.com in any "From" address. We include a "Send this Page" link so that you, or anyone else, may send your page to interested parties. Under no circumstances are you to use beniciahouse.com in your return address. Any violation of this rule will result in the immediate removal of your web page without refund.
    
8. You are allowed one link to your personal web site, or a web page promoting your work on another site. Any other links will be removed. (We suggest, but do not require, that you link your site to your web page on our site since additional links will help you with search engine placement).
    
9. While we allow one link to an outside site, we will include your email address if you so desire (not counted as a link). This must be a verified address, to you only. No email promotion to an autoresponder is allowed.
     Also, please note: we will parse your email address using java script to avoid robots or spiders from harvesting, however we cannot guarantee that you will not get a great deal of spam to the address published.
    
10. All fees must be paid in advance. Payment to Benicia House is handled exclusively via PayPal.  If you do not already have a PayPal account, it's FREE, and you will find a PayPal link on many of our site pages.
    
    

If you do not yet have a PayPal account, we suggest you apply for a PayPal Merchant account. It costs you nothing, but will allow you to market your work at a later date. This could be important to you since we are in the planning stages of setting up an option that will allow subscribers sell directly off their page, with all the proceeds going directly to their account. In order for this to work, they must have a merchant account with PayPal.
